President and Chief Operating Officer Appalachian Power

Chris Beam is president and chief operating officer of Appalachian Power, serving 1 million customers in West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee. As president, he oversees the company’s distribution operations and a wide range of customer and regulatory relationships. Beam joined the company in 1990. He is a Certified Project Management Professional and a graduate of DeVry University.

Community service has been a vital part of Beam’s career. He is on the board of directors of The Education Alliance, the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences, the W.Va. Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Business Council.

Beam and his wife, Jennifer, have two sons and live in Scott Depot, W.Va.
