Dedriell Taylor, Ed.D.
Dedriell Taylor, Ed.D. serves as the inaugural Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Dr. Taylor has a 15-year tenure in higher education, and leads Wesleyan’s strategic efforts to expand its diversity, equity and inclusion footprint on campus. Dr. Taylor’s career includes experience, not only in higher education, but in state government and the nonprofit sector.
Previous to joining Wesleyan, she served as the Director of Philanthropy for Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council and as an Adjunct Professor of Business at Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia. Dr. Taylor served in a host of capacities at Bluefield State College, West Virginia State University and the University of Charleston, including Director of Multicultural Affairs, Director of Development, Assistant Director of the Center for the Advancement of STEM, and Enrollment Management Coordinator. She also served as a Clinical Applications Specialist at the Department of Health and Human Services for the State of West Virginia.
A West Virginia native, Dr. Taylor earned her Doctor of Education and Master of Science in Management from Marshall University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from West Virginia University.
