A product of public school music programs, Joe has spent his life making and introducing music to audiences around the country. He previously served as executive director of the Reading Symphony and Lexington Ballet, and director of education and musician services for the Lexington Philharmonic. He plays double bass and has performed on Broadway, toured China with an Irish pub band and worked with the New York Pops education programs in the Bronx.  Since joining the WVSO as President in 2014, Joe Tackett has worked to shore up the WVSO’s finances and build new, diverse audiences. He manages the WVSO’s financial and human resources.
